We only used voice, so it was very similar to a conference call by phone, but with Skype, it's all free. Participants do need to have a skype-compatible headset for best audio quality, and then it's all good to go!

I do recommend doing a test run, so that every participant knows they can use Skype and audio quality is good. (for example, it took me almost a month of troubleshooting to get Skype and my home DSL to get along.)

Re: 1st Asian American Emergents skypecast

How did this first SKYPECast go?? We are interested in using the technology in Thailand to link churches and groups together. Have heard some about Skype, however, not a lot of information re useability, calarity, etc. Did you use video and voice?

Thanks

Dave

Fuller Theological Seminary
MAGL program

Re: 1st Asian American Emergents skypecast

Good times. I am bummed to have missed what seems like some good conversations. I can't make a 8/27 call so someone else will need to host that date.

Re: 1st Asian American Emergents skypecast

hey dj thanks for hosting the skypecast and I agree with david that if we can have a topic of discussion would be great...just three questions for our consideration should be good enough for an hour. thanks again dj, you are the networker of choice!

Re: 1st Asian American Emergents skypecast

Good first call...Looks like we'll have a lot to talk about. Good moderation. Perhaps we could try to focus on a particular aspect per call which may serve to direct the conversation and we could read up on it and come better prepared. But it was a great start. Looking forward to these calls in the future...
