BUT, I also realize that many people won't participate in something that's labelled emergent. Something that might be helpful is the idea of 'missional'. Some canadians (particularly Jamie Arpin Ricci) have made a case in using missional rather than emergent. A church in the Bay Area (GCC) used to bill itself as a church for "2nd and 3rd generation Asian Americans."  That struck me as very strange.
