No problem DJ. In God's sovereignty, I ended up meeting guys from Laos and Taiwan (both of whom weren't Christians but hanging out in that skypecast room). We had a good talk about Christ and comparing our various walks of faith. One was a professor at a university in Asia, teaching on moral ethics in society. It made for some interesting conversation to say the least.

The funny thing is that both of them were attracted to the skypecast title, which they thought was "Asian American IMMIGRANTS" instead of EMERGENTS.

God has a funny sense of humor :)

"Some of my best pastoral work was done as a bartender" - I love hearing that. Some AA Christians (and Pharisees) :) I know won't step anywhere near a bar...

Just curious -- how have the Skype connections been working for all of you?

The Skype connection overall has worked well! It does sound better on a conference call (up to 5 Skypers) than a skypecast (up to 100 Skypers), and I'm able to record calls either way. We did get the occasional garble with network congestion on a skypecast, and the moderator's panel on the skypecast does occasionally get glitchy. For what it is with VoIP and connecting people from around the US and the world (our Asian American Emergents skypecast may well be renamed Asian Emergents), it does work!

The other catch is this: a few callers have technical difficulty joining a skypecast. But, since I'm not looking over their shoulder, I'm not sure how to troubleshoot that, whether if it's a Skype version thing, hardware issue, or what.
