sponsor my cross country move

Started by djchuang · 11 months ago

In January 1991, I put all my worldly possessions in my car and drove to Dallas for seminary. In June 2007, I’ll be putting all my worldly possessions in my car and driving cross country to California, somewhere in Orange County. This time with a wife and a son, but again with no moving truck.

  • Wow, what an adventure! You are almost to God's country . . . just a little further north and voila! As far as sponsors, man, I wish I was connected more.
  • One more thing. If I DID have a sponsor connection, do you have a sheet of click statistics?
  • Congrats on the move! Looking forward to following your adventure!
  • DJ, you can be just like Justin.tv :) And I might have a connection that just might help. Will email you
  • sweet! Coming out to my neck of the woods.
  • My high-level stats here are 10,000 visits and 20,000 page views per month on average, plus 282 subscribers according to Feedburner. Ordinary visitor profile would be those curious about web innovations that are useful in everyday life, and a mix of Christian ministry leaders, with a good percentage of random web searches too.

So sponsors can come in several strategic categories: (1) looking to reach a particular audience that matches mine, (2) looking for added exposure by using a road trip story to showcase their product and/or service, (3) looking to use a road trip platform to market various brands, thus providing search-engine friendly content and links that would more easily connect searchers with vendors. (4) looking for proof of concept with a low-cost trial experimentation, (5) looking to integrate technologies that provide real-time interactivity while on the road.
  • DJ, not sure if you remember who I am. Formerly, Becky Fong... roomies with Amy Chang Lee. (Attend CBCM) I enjoy reading your blog... almost every other day.... I check to see what you've written. Guess, it's a way to peek into the blogging world. I enjoy it. May the Lord guide and direct your path as you head West. Sorry, we won't be able to visit bf you leave, but I will follow your journey via net.

    God bless,
    Rebecca
  • Hey DJ! We'll miss you (not that we've seen you guys a lot lately) :(
But just the thought of no more stops on our way up north...yep the in-laws are still up there.

Blessings to you all on your journey West!
  • man, I guess I won't be in town when you sweep by Blacksburg (I'm gone until July 20), or else I'd have to get with you for lunch! God bless on your travels, stay away from potholes...
  • DJ,

Blessings to you in your move to the west coast.

I'm curious to know how you decided to move to the OC. I've thought of moving to Southern California numerous times mainly for its churches and high Asian-American population. It seems as though many AA's find SoCal an attractive place to live for various reasons.
  • Wow, talk about pick up and go. I pray you'll hear God's leading clearly as you trek westwards. We'll miss you! Joe, Tina, Maddy and Livy.
  • Joseon, decision-making is not my strong suit. So the location of the move was more predetermined b/c my in-laws are in the OC, and my wife has a strong affinity for that particular county.

I'm not sure what the current statistics are, but several years ago, 1 out of 5 Americans move every year. And the population migration and surge seems to be most growing among the Sun Belt states: California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, etc. And, Phoenix is going to be the 5th largest city in America this year, surpassing Philadelphia.
  • DJ, congrats and all the best on the move. Very innovative way of going about it! wish i had connections for those particular items. Looking forward to following along!
